Every mountain hides its own beauty, but the people are the ones to make Himalayas special. Although it is their splendid height and inexpressible landscape what drives you back, there are the people so rich in spirit, which makes you wonder whether their spirit overpasses the heights of the mountain. They own almost nothing, but they have so much to give. Their smiles spread joy everywhere around them!
Their way of life makes me think about life and what is really important , that we need so little to be happy. I had a pleasure to make friends with them and I was invited to their homes, which is a great honor.
I have met a young boy Tenzing, who is actually a refugee from Tibet, whose family settled in Nepal, in the highest settlement on the mauntains. The name of the village is Namche Bazar, on the elevation of 3700m and it is the last chance to rest for the people who are on their way to the top of the mountain. I've got the nick name from Himalaya's inhabitants. They used to call me "Extra Large". Once, on my way back, I heard a boy saying "Extra Large is back". It was Tenzing. I went to the store and bought some chocolates for him. The boy was truly happy and returned the gifts right away. He gave me the traditional pennants with Buddhist prayers on it. They believe that the wind reads the prayers and it will bring you good fortune if you tide them up for the bridge you are crossing. That was a beginning of our friendship.
